Composer for Film, TV & Games
Based in London, Christiaan Oyens is a highly accomplished Dutch composer and multi-platinum record producer with over thirty-five years of international experience across film, television, and music.
Originally raised in Rio de Janeiro, Christiaan honed his craft at Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California, and further deepened his compositional prowess through private study with the legendary Moacir Santos. His early career in Brazil saw him writing extensively for musicals and television, alongside penning numerous hit singles for Brazilian artists. A testament to his melodic strength, his composition "Catedral," sung by Zélia Duncan, was Brazil's most air-played song in 1995.
Christiaan's expertise extends to high-level production. A multi-platinum record producer with two Latin Grammy nominations, he notably received a Latin Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Rock Album of the Year (Suricato, “Sol-te”). His work on musical production for “The Voice Kids Brasil” at Globo Network also earned him three International Emmy nominations, showcasing his aptitude for large-scale broadcast projects.
Since relocating to London in 2019, Christiaan has swiftly built a strong portfolio of UK-relevant scoring work. He recently scored a feature film, recorded with The Saint Petersburg Studio Orchestra, demonstrating his ability to work with top-tier international ensembles. In February 2025, he garnered a Best Original Score award (Children Cinema Awards) for the feature animation film "My Big, Big Friend - The Movie," a comprehensive project where he composed, orchestrated, and recorded with the renowned City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. This highlights his full-spectrum scoring capabilities and experience with orchestral recording. Furthermore, Christiaan served as arranger for Welsh singer/songwriter Carwyn Ellis's album "Yn Rio," recorded by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and released in October 2021. This specific collaboration underscores his strong connection to UK talent and institutions, a key asset for the British market. He has also recently completed the score for the upcoming feature film “Oito Segundos, o Desafio,” recorded with the Tallinn Studio Orchestra in Estonia for New Cine & TV.
With a proven track record of delivering compelling and acclaimed scores, Christiaan Oyens is ideally positioned to contribute his diverse musical voice and extensive production experience to the dynamic UK film, television, and games industries.
